Tonalità is a sound walk through the city of Bolzano (Italy) produced in collaboration with the artists’ association Südtiroler Künstlerbund and Beste Kılınç. Our aim was to bring art closer to public life. The artists spoke about their relationship with an abandoned site in the city in a poetic way, through a musical piece that I composed. Listeners were then invited to share their stories inside the art gallery, during a participatory installation. A mini jukebox was available for them to assign a sound to their stories, creating an emotional sound map. Bringing a community together and collaborating with young artists, curators and designers was a beautiful polyphonic way of inhabiting the city.
