When the strings are touched, Armenian poems, lullabies, and sonic portraits mix up. Through the playful act of weaving, the sound tapestry invites viewers to reflect on mnemonic devices and the interconnection between singing and carpet making. The loom becomes a living sound archive, perpetuating the rich Armenian tradition of oral storytelling. The instrument becomes a facilitator that recalls songs and encourages singing while weaving. The project offers an alternative to the dominant Western conception of memory as something static, linear, and rigid, where archives are often closed to the public and reserved for specific uses.
